Tips For Creating Fun Halloween Parties
Who doesn’t love Halloween? That’s probably why even the littlest kids go to Halloween celebrations! If you’ll be throwing a Halloween bash this year, I’ll bet you wouldn’t mind saving a little money — as long as your guests’ experience doesn’t suffer as a result. These tips will help smooth the way and keep expenses down for your Halloween party:
Don’t do it alone
If you’re on a tight budget, throwing the party with a friend or family member can be a money-saving idea. If that isn’t practical, just make it a pot luck so both the expense and the work will be shared.
Print the party invitations yourself
Using Halloween invitations you can download online will allow you to economize by making your own. They’re a frugal option and they’re also fun to make.
Make the party decorations
You’d be surprised at the things you can create if you use Halloween masks scrapbook paper or Halloween pumpkin clipart that are freely available on Web sites and blogs. Images of ghosts, haunted houses or pumpkins can be used to make wall and table decorations, and the scrapbooking papers can be used to create table place cards and wrapping paper for party favors. If you’re the crafty type, you could even make origami decorations using the scrapbook papers. Spider and bat origami patterns are easy to make and quite appropriate! To create a fun way to hang the origami creatures, just use cheesecloth (available in the cooking section of your local discount store) and hang it from light fixtures, paintings and walls. You can then hook the origami bats and spiders on it. Hanging cheap decorations from the dollar or discount store will also work. Try washing the cheesecloth and crunching into a ball to dry a few days before the party, so any folds are removed and it looks more like a spider web.
I’m sure if you put your mind to it you can find other means to stay on-budget without looking cheap. A little bit of creativity can go a long way!
